Plasterboard Calculator
Calculate how many plasterboard sheets you need for walls and ceilings, plus the number of fixings required. Uses British Gypsum standard board size: 2.4m × 1.2m (8ft × 4ft).

Plasterboard Specifications
This calculator uses the UK standard plasterboard size: 2.4m × 1.2m (2.88m² per board). The result includes 10% extra for cuts and wastage. For irregular layouts or multiple small areas, add an additional 5-10% boards.
Fixings Per Board
Drywall screws are spaced 200-300mm apart on walls, 150mm on ceilings. This calculator assumes 30 screws per board (conservative estimate). For ceilings or fire-rated installations, increase fixing count by 20%.
Jointing Compound Coverage
A 1.2kg tub of jointing compound (such as Gyproc Easi-Fill) covers approximately 6-8m² for joints and screw heads. Calculate based on total area divided by 7m² per tub, rounded up.
